This publication, which covers the first half of the A2 level, follows on from the coursebooks Czech Express 1 and Czech Express 2. In seven practically focused lessons, Czech learners can learn to orient themselves and react in further communicative situations (e.g. on the topics of Countries, Nationality, Languages, What you like and don’t like to eat, People around us, Family relationships, Where I live, Appearance, How to be polite and many others). The coursebook concentrates on mastering all the language skills.

Czech grammar is simplified as far as possible and the student discovers it for themselves through text and overview tables. The coursebook is designed for teaching both in groups and on individual courses. Czech Express 3 is composed of two volumes. The first volume contains the coursebook and workbook and is entirely in Czech. The texts and exercises in this book are complemented by a number of colour photographs and original illustrations including the popular cartoons. The second book is the Supplement with vocabulary, grammatical tables and explanations which help the learner get to know Czech through their first language (published in English, German and Russian versions and we are preparing versions in other languages). The set also includes a key to exercises and an alphabetical dictionary for the whole coursebook. The publication includes an audio CD.

Czech Express 2 (level A1/2) - Lída Holá, Pavla Bořilová

Czech Express 2 is a continuation of Czech Express 1. It covers the second half of Level A1 (A1/2) and is the second part of the multi-volume Czech Express series of coursebooks. It fulfils the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and is designed for beginners who want to reach the A1 level quickly.

Its seven practically oriented lessons help students of Czech understand and react in basic communicative situations (topics include: Houses and Flats, At the Doctor, Visiting, Looking For Work, and more). The coursebook focuses on mastering communication skills, primarily speaking and listening. Czech grammar is simplified as much as possible and students discover it themselves through texts and overview tables.

Czech Express 2 consists of two parts: a monolingual coursebook, including a workbook, and an additional Supplement containing vocabulary, grammar tables, and explanations in the student’s mother tongue. The coursebook’s texts are accompanied by a plethora of colour photographs and original illustrations, including popular comics. The publication includes an audio CD.

Czech Step by Step 2/ Tschechisch Schritt für Schritt 2/ Чешский шаг за шагом 2 - Lída Holá, Pavla Bořilová

The textbook Czech Step by Step 2 is the second volume of the textbook Czech Step by Step 1. It contains, in 20 units, a review of grammatical areas which were presented in the previous volume and also significantly expands students' vocabulary and deepens their communicative competence.

This textbook systematically develops all four language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Introductory texts focus on interesting topics relating to all areas of people's lives, while the closing section of each unit, called Everyday Czech, introduces daily life in the Czech Republic. After finishing the textbook the students will have reached level B1 according to the official descriptions of the threshold levels - Czech as a foreign language. All of the text, including the explanation of grammatical features is in Czech. Included with the book are a Czech-English-German-Russian glossary, the Czech Grammar in a Nutshell 2 booklet and two audio CDs.
